New LC7 OEM Processor From AudioControl Offers Simple iPod Interfacing

Mountlake Terrace, WA  AudioControl, an award-winning designer and manufacturer of high-performance audio components, has announced the latest addition to their line of OEM integration processors: the new LC7. This new performance signal processor accepts speaker-level inputs from a factory radio or factory amplifier, and converts them to high-quality pre-amp signals.  This allows for the easy addition of aftermarket processors and amplifiers while maintaining the use of factory volume and steering wheel controls.  Additionally, the LC7 sports an auxiliary input that allows for the simple addition of secondary source units like iPods and satellite radio tuners.  The LC7 is a high-value OEM integration processor. It provides installer friendly features like internal signal summing, AudioControl’s GTO™ signal-sense turn-on, a high-current 12-volt turn-on output, plus a dash control that allows source selection and subwoofer level adjustments.

“Sales of secondary source devices like iPods, satellite radios, and MP3 players have exceeded 100,000,000 units world wide,” commented Chris Kane, National Sales Manager for AudioControl. “Needless to say, this reflects the large interest today’s consumers have in listening to music wherever and whenever! The LC7 is the ideal OEM integration processor for customers who want to easily add high-performance aftermarket amplifiers, plus enjoy the flexibility of using their portable audio devices.”

The LC7 utilizes the same proven OEM integration technology as AudioControl’s highly popular LC6I and LC8 OEM integration processors. The speaker level inputs accept high wattage signals (up to 400 watts), either full range or crossed over, and converts them to high-quality pre-amp signals.  Signals from factory radios with built-in crossovers can be summed and combined internally to provide a full-range pre-amp signal.  Installers wanting custom control over their sound can easily add one of AudioControl’s many crossovers or equalizers, offering audio performance that is clearly better than OEM systems.

The LC7 offers a number of key features that assist in the OEM integration process:

  • Dash mountable Source Selection and Subwoofer Level Control
  • GTO™ Signal-sensing Turn-on Circuit  Automatically turns on the LC7 when it detects a signal on the main speaker level inputs
  • Output Level Adjustments - for signal matching to amplifiers
  • Auxiliary Input Control - for optimum source unit level matching
  • 12-volt Turn-on - triggers additional processors and/or amplifiers
  • AutoMode™  Circuit - turns 4-channel input into a 6-channel output

The LC7 begins shipping in July 2007 with a selling price of $199.99
including the dash control
